AI Chat provides UI components for building AI chat interfaces in a Jmix application: a complete chat, the parts it is assembled from, and a code block that renders source code in and outside a conversation.
The UI components work with any backend: Spring AI, a vendor SDK, or your own service.
Key capabilities:
- Get a working chat with one
aiChatelement and a provider. It combines a message list, a message input, and an empty state. - Stream answers token by token, with a thinking indicator and an optional live feed of what the assistant is doing.
- Render assistant messages as Markdown. Fenced code blocks become
aiCodeBlockcomponents. - Attach files by drag and drop or from a file picker. Files are stored in Jmix file storage and stay downloadable from the conversation history.
- Bind the chat to a collection container over your own message entity and persist the conversation.
- Add standard Jmix actions per message role, including built-in copy and regenerate actions.
- Use the message list, message input, and code block as standalone components.
- Build your own chat from the parts: append messages, stream answers into them, and report progress and errors from application code.
